Laser News: Week Three
We have some important deadlines coming up in the next few days.
DEADLINES:
- B Meet: The deadline to sign-up is NOON tomorrow, Sunday, June 24th!
- A Meet: The deadline to mark your swimmer as available for the meet is 10:45 AM on Wednesday, June 27th.
- A Relay Carnival: The deadline to mark your swimmer as available for the A Relay Carnival is 10:45 AM on Wednesday, June 27th.
It is very important that swimmers/parents take actions on swimmer availability. For A Meets, it is CRITICAL that swimmers availability is declared through Swimtopia. In order to do so please, take the following actions;

- Click on Meet Entry
- From the drop down select "Available For This Meet" or "Not Available For This Meet."
Recap - A Meet vs. Stonebridge
This morning, in chilly and rainy weather, we swam our second A meet of the season against the Sharks of Stonebridge. We fell short but it was great to see all the swimmers cheering each other on and giving the youngest swimmers pep talks before their events! Great display of team spirit!
Thank you to the parent volunteers. A meet cannot run without you & we’re all there for our kids to have fun. It makes the lives of reps so much easier when we don’t have to go chasing after people on the pool deck!

Upcoming Week
We have another very busy week for the Lasers, filled with fun, fun, fun!
MONDAY: Game Night - Age 9 - 12 ONLY
Swimmers Age 9 thru 12, please join the coaches in the Lake Marion Community Center from 7 to 9 PM for some fun games!
WEDNESDAY: B Meet at Home
This is a home meet. Parents: Please, sign up to volunteer so that we can have our swimmers participate without interruption. Home meets require additional volunteers.
Theme is Maryland Day
Please, note your colour by age group:
8 & Under: Crabs
9-10: Yellow
11-12: White
13-14: Black
15-18: Red
We also encourage swimmers to think outside the box and come up with some iconic Maryland inspired costumes.
THURSDAY: Rockin Jump on Woodfield Road
This is open to all swimmers (including pre-team) & family members. This will be an afternoon event (after pre-team but before Evening practice) but exact time will be provided early next week and will be updated on the team calendar (Meets and Events)

Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an older sibling or parent. Everyone is responsible for paying their own cost of admission.
FRIDAY: Pasta Dinner at LMCC.
Sign up via our website to bring a dish & join the coaches and other swimmers for dinner.
SATURDAY: A Meet vs Mill Creek at Mill Creek Town.
Theme: Red, White & Blue
SUNDAY: A Carnival Relay at Home
Theme: Red & Black
Cluster photo sharing app
Last year, the swim team committee began using The Cluster App as a way to share photos and videos of our swimmers, coaches, parents and volunteers and all the fun that is summer swimming. The Cluster App will allow you to safely share your favourite photos. This app is by invite only and any pictures you upload will only be seen by swim team families that accept the invitation. If you choose to accept the invitation to the Lake Marion Lasers Cluster group, all you will need to do is click on the link below and it will walk you through the registration process. Once you have joined, simply add your photos/videos. Since this will be a private group, we are asking that you do not share this invite information with anyone who does not have a registered swimmer with Lake Marion Swim Team.

All remaining meets are open. Please, confirm your availability for the A & B meets so that the coaches can seed the A meets & have an understanding of the entries for B meets.
