Lifeguard Job Opportunities and Lifeguard Training

Dear Swim Team Participant,
Montgomery Village Foundation is looking for an
outstanding candidates to join our lifeguard team for the 2021 summer
season. Montgomery Village provide professional, team oriented
environment with competitive pay and opportunities to gain
experience and advance in the field. Candidates for the lifeguard
position must have current
American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPR/AED/PR and First Aid
Certificate. Students must be 15 years old by the last day of the course
(proof of age required) and pass a pre-screen test (300 yard continuous
swim with rhythmic breathing using front crawl
or breast stroke, 10 lbs. brick retrieval within one minute forty
seconds and tread water using legs only for two minutes).
Due to Covid-19 pandemic and various restrictions, finding lifeguard class is a challenge this year.
Montgomery Village Foundation is not able to co-teach classes due to
gathering limits. We are planning to hold lifeguard training
at Stedwick Pool sometime in late April. Yes, it might be bit cold.
Good news is, that our lifeguard training partner –
City of Rockville just schedule few lifeguard classes. If you are available to take the class, I would
strongly recommend that you sign up ASAP. Due to gathering limits, only 9 participants can register for each class.
