First Practice Is Tomorrow and More
Good Afternoon Lake Marion Lasers,
Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 31st is the first day of swim team practice. Swimmers please show your team spirit by wearing a Lake Marion t-shirt or red and black to school tomorrow. Practice for swim team members are as listed below. NOTE: Pre-team evaluations begin on Wednesday!
Please keep in mind the following as we start the season this week:
1. Only swimmers that are registered and paid may participate in practice. If you have paid but not registered in SwimTopia, please do so before attending practice. This includes swimmers coming for pre-team evaluations. This is an insurance requirement and we cannot make any exceptions. Refunds will be given to any pre-teamer that attends evaluation and cannot meet the requirements listed during registration.
2. Swimmers or parent/guardian MUST show a valid 2022 pool pass to enter the pool.
3. A Parent or guardian, age 16 or older, must remain on the pool deck during practice with swimmers under the age of 10. This is an MVF rule. Please see all MVF pool rules here.
4. A member of the committee will be at the front desk or outside the entrance to check in swimmers/families prior to them turning in their activity card to enter the pool deck. Please bring payment, cash or check, if you have not paid.

Practice Schedule
Our first practice is tomorrow, Tuesday May 31st. The below are our practice times while MCPS is still in session.
- 4:15 – 5:30 PM for current middle and high school students
- 5:15 – 6:15 PM for current elementary school students.

We will have pre-team evaluations on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week for all swimmers 9 & under that have never swam in a swim meet unassisted. This will allow our coaching staff to assess swimmers ability and place them in the appropriate group. Thank you to those who have already signed up for one of these essential evaluations. If you haven’t signed up yet, please go to the Signup Genius page https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/4090d4fa9ad2ea0f49-preteam and select one (1) time slot. Please list the swimmers name (first and last) in the comments when you sign up. After evaluations are completed, coaches will make decisions on where each swimmer needs to be and families will be notified by our pre-team rep, Nicole Goldsby. CITs
We are still in need of CITs, especially those that are available during the afternoon. Our CITs must be rising 8th graders or older who can stand comfortably in the lanes.
