Lake Marion Swim Team families-

Every year we march in Montgomery Village's Independence Day Parade. We won the prize for best floats in 2016 (Jaws chasing a motor boat), 2018 (Everyday Heroes), and 2019 (Top Gun jet). This year's theme from Montgomery Village is “May the Fourth Be With You”.

Come dressed in costume as your favorite Star Wars character!

Here's what you need to know:

1. Swimmers, siblings, family, and friends are all welcome march with us. The parade is only a 1/2 mile. It starts at the corner of Apple Ridge RD and Montgomery Village Avenue, proceeds down Apple Ridge, and ends at the Apple Ridge pool parking lot. Arrive at the parade start area by 9:30 AM. Parade starts at 10 AM.
2. Wear your favorite Star Wars costume or Lake Marion spirit wear.

4. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Each year MVF asks each swim team to provide volunteers to help them with parade operations as a way of giving back to the community. This year we are tasked with registering parade entries. This is where we need your help; volunteers will be asked to assist with parade registration which starts at 9:00am, writing ribbons at the conclusion of the judging – the judging will start at 9:30am. We ask that the volunteers report to either Amy Potocko or Duncan Mullis no later than 8:45am at the registration table. SSL hours are available.
