Please read: Sunday's Relay Carnival Info
Happy Friday Lasers!
Our Relay Carnival is on Sunday at Washingtonian Woods at 511 Midsummer Drive, Gaithersburg MD 20878. This is a high energy, fun event for swimmers and spectators alike! The theme is Red & Black.
Come cheer on the team in your Laser spirit wear! Even if you aren’t in the draft line up that Coach Jorge shared, come with your suit and be ready to get in the water. The relay entries can be adjusted even as swimmers are lining up at the start!
Please plan to arrive at 8 AM. Our warm up time is 8:30 - 8:45 AM. Our team area is to the left as you walk in, closest to the restroom (see the attached map of the pool). Please bring tents and chairs - we only have 12 chairs in the team area.
Parking will be a challenge, as their lot is fairly small, and we have the last warm-up time. Plan to arrive early to drop swimmers off and then locate a parking spot!
The map shows suggested parking, as parking nearest the pool will likely be full when we arrive. If you have good parking karma, you may find some local parking available on Midsummer Drive. Do not park on Midsummer Drive alongside the pool fence or in front of a residential driveway. Always follow local posted parking signage.
The blue lines on the parking map are parking options (on the right hand side, please) and the yellow lines are paths that go to the pool. We suggest you park at the local park. There is access to the clubhouse by means of the marked path.
Thank you to Monte Lewis, Mike Sharp, Nicole Clagett and Stacey Seager for throwing their hats in the ring to swim in the parent relay that morning. It’s not too late for you to enter this exciting contest!
A message from the host team: The Waves Cafe will be open by 7:30 AM and has a ton of options for you and your hungry swimmers! We have a full menu offering plenty of beverages, snacks, breakfast sandwiches, waffles, and lunch items from the grill. And we take all forms of payments - credit cards, apple pay, venmo, paypal, and even cash!
We can’t wait to see everyone in their Red and Black at the Washingtonian Woods pool on Sunday morning!
