A huge thank you to Irma Najarro for coordinating our senior recognition as well as serving as a runner in the second half. And thank you to Rene Najarro for picking up our lunch order from Chick-Fil-A.

    Manchester Farm Mini Meet Recap

We are so happy that our youngest Lasers had a chance to shine this morning at the Manchester Farm Mini Meet. Way to Go Little Lasers! Thank you to all of the members of the Laser family who came to cheer on our youngest Lasers, and the CITs and coaches who helped too!

Home B Meet at HOME on Wednesday, July 20th

We will enjoy our last pancake breakfast on Wednesday to fuel up for our last B meet of the season. Please bring in donations to offset the cost of the tasty pancakes, bacon, and fruit!

The deadline to sign up for the B meet is 6:30 PM tomorrow - Monday, July 18. Swimmers are allowed to swim as many events as they want as long as they are legal to swim that event and they did not swim that event yesterday. Please see the Team Handbook under “Eligibility for B meets” for more information about B meet sign ups and the freestyle exceptions.

You can sign up by following these directions: Log in to your Swimtopia account by clicking here or go to https://lakemarionlasers.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

    1. Click on Week 5B.
    2. Select Edit under the swimmer’s name.
    3. From the drop down, select Attending This Meet.
    4. Select the events the swimmer is eligible to swim.
    5. Click Save.

Be sure to sign up for a job when you sign up to swim, as we need all hands on deck to run a successful home meet! The theme is Tie Dye, so show your Laser spirit with your tie dyed attire! We will recognize two swimmers and a Lake Marion family for showing their team spirit.

Raft and Noodle Time at Lake Marion on Thursday, July 23rd from 3-5 PM

Every Tuesday and Thursday from 3-5 PM, Lake Marion allows you to bring rafts and noodles into the pool. We hope some of you are available to hang out together this Thursday, while the pool is open, and have some fun!

Donuts, Pasta Dinner, and Divisionals Set up - Friday, July 22nd

Swimmers will have their last chance to enjoy a donut after the AM practice on Friday. Thanks to Karrie Shuttles and Beth Turner for being our dynamic donut duo this season! We will also have our final pasta dinner that evening and we’d love to see our entire Laser family there. Sign up to bring a dish and help with set up/clean up under Job Signup. We will also need to set up the pool deck that evening to prepare to host Divisionals bright and early the next morning!

Divisionals at Home on Saturday, July 23rd

We are excited to welcome the entire division to our pool on Saturday morning. Lake Marion warm ups start bright and early at 6:45 AM and the meet will start at 8:00 AM. Coach shared the line up earlier today. It’s not too late to order a Divisionals t-shirt. Here is the new order form. This order will close on Monday, July 25th. Shirts will be delivered to our team, so be sure to write Lake Marion in the notes field. We will be in touch with you to coordinate pick up once the shirts arrive. If you ordered a shirt in the first round of orders, those will be handed out at Divisionals.

Popsicle Meet and Banquet & Awards on Sunday, July 24th

Our preteam will enjoy their popsicle meet on Sunday morning at 9 AM at our pool. We hope to see lots of our Laser family there to cheer on the youngest members of our team.

That evening, we will enjoy our banquet, catered by Simply Fresh, and our awards night. Look for more details from our social chair extraordinaire, Karrie Shuttles!

Raft and Splash on Monday, July 25th (rain date is Thursday, July 28th)

A favorite Lake Marion tradition, Raft and Splash, is back! Lake Marion will close early that day so our team can have some fun together from 5 - 8 PM. This celebration is open to swim team families only, and of course includes our preteam. Mark your calendars and get your rafts ready!

    Prize Winners

Our prize winners from last week are Mike Sharp, Maria Mullarky, Daniela Falcone, Antonio Montoro, Lainie Hoover and Jen Caldwell. They won a $2 off coupon to the Laser Cafe! The prize for being one of the first ones to read to the end of this email is to sign up for the best jobs at our final meets! We need everyone to pitch in at our last two meets to ensure their success. Here are just a few of the perks of each job:

    • Timer - Endorsed by Ken Barrett as “the best seat in the house!”
    • Concessions - So easy to step away to see your swimmer in their events
    • Meet set up - Claim a prime seat in the team area since you are there first!
    • Meet clean up - Getting in a quick workout
    • Hospitality - Sharing your smile while quenching the thirst of the timers and officials

Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us end our season on a high note!
