We had a tough loss to Potomac Glen this morning, but it felt great to host our first home A meet and see some amazing swims! You can find the meet results under Schedule, Meet Results or by clicking here.

B Meet Week 2 - Wednesday, June 28

Our upcoming B meet is AWAY at Flower Hill on Wednesday, June 28. The deadline to sign up for the Flower Hill B meet is 6:00 PM on Monday, June 26. Swimmers are generally allowed to swim as many events as they want as long as they are legal to swim that event and they did not swim that event this morning. There are two exceptions. 1. If you are a usual A swimmer who misses an A meet, you are not eligible to swim your normal strokes in the following B meet. 2. Any swimmer who has an MCSL All Star time in a stroke is not allowed to swim that stroke in a B meet (even if it is the off stroke.) Please see the Team Handbook under “Eligibility for B meets” for more information about B meet sign ups and the freestyle exceptions.

Click on Week 2B.
Select Edit under the swimmer’s name.
From the drop down, select Attending This Meet.
Select the events the swimmer is eligible to swim.
Click Save.

Be sure to sign up for a job when you sign up to swim! The theme is TIE DYE, so show your Laser spirit with your tie dye attire from head to toe! We will be recognizing two swimmers and a Lake Marion family for showing their team spirit on Wednesday evening.

A Meet Week 3 - Saturday, July 1

Our next A meet is at HOME vs. Quail Valley on Saturday, July 1. It is critical that a swimmer’s availability is declared through Swimtopia for each A meet. Here’s how!

Click on Week 3A.
Select Edit under the swimmer’s name.
From the drop down, select Available For This Meet or Not Available For This Meet.
Click Save.

Please declare your swimmer’s A Meet availability as soon as possible, but no later than 10:30 AM (the end of AM practice) on Wednesday, June 28th. Please do this even if you don’t think your swimmer would participate in an A meet.

Feel free to declare your availability for the remaining A meets, A relays and divisionals when you declare for our upcoming A meet!

A meets are seeded by the coaching staff. Jorge will communicate who will swim in this meet on Thursday morning. The line-up will then be formally exchanged with Quail Valley by noon on Friday.

Social Events

We have two social events planned for the upcoming week. First, the team will meet at Regal theater in Germantown on Tuesday, June 27 to see the 11:50 AM showing of Elemental. Get your tickets while there are still plenty available! Tickets are $7 (plus service fees) if you join their Regal Crown Club. Second, we have Parents Night Out on Thursday, June 29 from 7-9 PM at Gentleman Jim’s. Book your sitter and join us from some grown up time! ;)

Say Cheese!

We have once again created a private Cluster group for picture/video sharing this summer, as we have done in years past. Cluster is a free and easy to use site/app to share photos easily. This group is by invite only and any pictures you upload will only be seen by swim team families that accept the invitation. If you choose to accept the invitation to the Lake Marion Lasers Cluster group, all you will need to do is click on the link below and it will walk you through the registration process. Once you have joined, simply add your photos/videos. Since this is a private group, we are asking that you do not share this invite information with anyone who does not have a registered swimmer with Lake Marion Swim Team. The app is very easy to use, so be sure to download that today. So excited to see all the fun that is captured this summer!
