tomorrow's HOME meet details
Happy Friday Laser Family!
It’s pasta dinner night and this fun gathering is open to all members of the team! We will begin eating shortly after 6:30 pm, once afternoon practice is over and all the swimmers and coaches arrive. We appreciate anyone who can stay after the pasta dinner to help set up the deck once the pool closes.
Saturday morning’s theme is Red, White and Blue! Come dressed in your patriotic attire to show your team spirit and cheer on all of our swimmers! As a reminder, our team area begins at the right half of the large red umbrella and extends to the shed. Be sure to save the left half of the large red umbrella for Quail Valley. Please bring your shelters to provide shade for our team area as we need to use all of the team tents around the deck to shade our volunteers, officials, and swimmers at the clerk of course areas. Remember to stay in the team area and be ready to report to the clerks of course (Ms. Najarro and Ms. Goldsby) prior to your events!
We have reserved the lower parking lot for our guests for the meet, so please walk to the pool or park in the upper lot.
Please be on deck by 7:50 AM at the latest and be ready to get in the water for warm ups at 8:00 AM sharp. Check in with your age group coach when you arrive:
- 15-18 & 13-14: Rachel Sharp
- 11-12,9-10 & 8 and under: Rachel Johnson
Our meet program will come out tonight in a separate email. Print out a family copy and/or review it with your swimmers so they know the events/heats/lanes they are in. Please do not leave the meet on Saturday unless your swimmer has checked out with the coaches (unless you have already let them know you have to leave early). The relay participant list in the lineup is tentative. Swimmers should be prepared to swim through the last event of the meet and need to check out with one of the coaches prior to changing.
We are so thankful to the volunteers who have signed up to help at the meet. Volunteers, please check in with our volunteer coordinator, Tanya Hunter, when you arrive on Saturday morning. Our home meets require many people to run successfully, including concessions - which is the team’s biggest source of revenue. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Speaking of concessions, we will have breakfast sandwiches to start off the meet, and then we will switch over to burgers and more around half time. Come hungry, and come with CASH! Exciting news: We will also be accepting Venmo this Saturday!
This week on deck we welcome Seasonal Roots, a local online farmer’s market. Join for $25 (50% off the regular price) and Lake Marion receives $20 of your membership fee! Be sure to check out their table near the gate, pick up a flier, and share this fundraiser with your local friends and neighbors, as every sign up benefits our team!
Our team lunch after the meet will be in the community center. See the separate email that Karrie sent out and place your order by the 12 PM deadline today! And before heading inside to enjoy our team lunch, please help us clean up the deck so that the pool can open quickly. Many hands make light work! At lunch, the coaching staff will hand out ribbons. And we will find out who will be awarded this week’s spirit awards. We kindly remind everyone to clean up after themselves after the team lunch, as the community center deck was left a mess last week. Thank you!
Let’s swim fast and have fun on Saturday morning! Go Lasers!
