Hello Lasers! You guessed it - it’s time for your weekly update!

It felt great to have a big win this morning! The team spirit was amazing and the sportsmanship was great to see too. You can find the meet results under Schedule, Meet Results or by clicking here.

We would like to recognize the following swimmers who swam All Star times this morning:

Maddie Arias - breast
Sam Arias - IM and breast
Chase Keeler - IM, back, and fly
Kien Nguyen - free and fly
Austin Seager - IM and breast

We would like to congratulate Sam Arias for breaking the team record in 15-18 IM with a time of 1:12.76! She also broke the team record in 15-28 breaststroke with a time of 1:20.50! We are sorry we didn’t announce these on deck today!

Congratulations to Mason Nguyen swimming in his first A meet!

A shout out to Sophia Hoover, Eli Hunter, and the Page Family for winning this week’s spirit awards!

Thank you to all of the families who volunteered this morning. We couldn’t have hosted a successful meet without you! We especially want to shout out coach Rachel Johnson’s mom, Lucia, for timing in the second half!

B Meet Week 3 - Wednesday, July 5th at HOME

Our upcoming B meet is HOME vs Whetstone on Wednesday, July 5. The deadline to sign up for this B meet is 6:00 PM on Monday, June 3. Sign up for this B meet by following these directions:

Click on Week 3B.
Select Edit under the swimmer’s name.
From the drop down, select Attending This Meet.
Select the events the swimmer is eligible to swim.
Click Save.

Be sure to sign up for a job when you sign up to swim! The theme is Red, White & Blue, so show your Laser spirit with your patriotic attire from head to toe! We will be recognizing two swimmers and a Lake Marion family for showing their team spirit on Wednesday evening.

A Meet Week 4 - Saturday, July 8

Our next A meet is AWAY at Montgomery Square on Saturday, July 8. Declare, declare, declare! Here’s how!

Click on Week 4A.
Select Edit under the swimmer’s name.
From the drop down, select Available For This Meet or Not Available For This Meet.
Click Save.

We need you to declare your swimmer’s availability for our next home meet as soon as possible, but no later than 10:30 AM (the end of AM practice) on Wednesday, July 5th. Please do this even if you don’t think your swimmer would participate in an A meet.

Please declare your swimmer's availability for the HOME Week 5 A meet, A relays and divisionals when you declare for the Week 4 A meet! Not sure if you should declare? If your child has competed in an A or B meet so far this season, please declare them for all of these meets. A meets, A relays, and divisionals provide critical points for our team which determine our divisional ranking next year. Thank you!

A meets are seeded by the coaching staff. Jorge will communicate who will swim in this meet on Thursday. The line-up will then be formally exchanged with Montgomery Square by noon on Friday.

Team Picture

Our Team Picture will be on Tuesday, July 11th at 8 AM. We have to schedule the picture when the pool is closed, so all swimmers who practice in the PM are invited to meet us at the pool at 8 AM that morning before heading out to their activities. We will have a combined AM practice after the picture. Karrie Shuttles will send a separate email with all of the details about this annual tradition!

Lasermania

Mark your calendars for Lasermania! Swimmers will participate in fun events and friendly competition on the morning of Friday, July 14. We can only hold Lasermania when the pool is closed to the public, so all team members who practice in the afternoon are invited to come to Lasermania that morning.
