Hello Lake Marion!

Here is some essential information to kick off our second week of practice.

Preteam Evaluations

If you have a preteam swimmer who hasn’t signed up for an evaluation, please do so at this link ASAP. Evaluations run through this Thursday, with rain dates offered next week if needed. Preteam practices begin on Monday, June 17th.

Transition/Developmental Group

We are excited to offer this special practice group this season! These practices will run approximately 45 minutes, not the full hour.

CITs

We offer the opportunity for some of our older swimmers to be CITs (Coaches in Training) this summer! CITs will:

• Assist pre-team coaches in conducting morning practices from 9:30 AM - 10:15 AM and afternoon pre-team practices from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. The pre-team coaches, Izzy and Ellie, will direct the CITs for all practices and meets.
• Assist at pre-team meets - Manchester Farm and Popsicle Meet - if available.
• Follow the pool rules.
• Discuss any and all problems encountered in dealing with swimmers, parents or other coaches with one of the swim committee members directly.
• Discuss and/or communicate any absences or conflicts in advance with one of the pre-team reps directly.
• Be reliable and punctual at all pre-team practices.
• Demonstrate and encourage fair play and good sportsmanship.
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality.

CITs must be 12 years of age or older and be able to stand comfortably in the lanes. If you have a swimmer who is interested in applying, please make sure they complete this form by Monday, June 10. The form will ask for their availability throughout the season, so it may be helpful to know this information prior to clicking on the link!

All Comers

We are hosting our time trials meet to kick off the season this Saturday morning! If you have signed your swimmer up, thank you! If you also signed up for a volunteer shift, thank you again! Please be sure to submit your payment of $3 per entry to any committee member.

If your swimmer can participate, you must sign them up no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday (Schedule - All Meets and Events - All Comers Meet Entry). This is two hours earlier than the previously announced deadline. If your swimmer is not available, please note that (Schedule - All Meets and Events - All Comers Meet Entry) so we know not to expect you.
