Hello Laser Families! We are excited to announce that registration will open tomorrow at NOON for our upcoming season!

To register, visit https://lakemarionlasers.swimtopia.com/ and log into your account. Click Register Now on the right-hand side. As a returning family, much of the information is pre-populated for you.

This year’s fees have not changed from last year: $160 for the first swimmer, $150 for the second swimmer, $140 for the third swimmer and any subsequent swimmers. Swimtopia charges a $3 per athlete “technology fee” as well so this will be added to your registration total. You can pay online (with a service fee as noted when you register) or you can mail your check to the address provided/deliver it to any board member. If you register by Monday, May 19th at 11:59 PM, you will receive a free spirit wear t-shirt by Frizzy’s Tees & Things!

We are aware that due to the workforce reductions taking place within the federal government, some of our families may need assistance this summer in order to participate on the swim team. While we are not making any promises about providing assistance, scholarships, or discounts to everyone, we are curious as to the number of families impacted. If you are one of these families, please hold off on registering and complete this form by Friday, May 2nd so we are aware of the needs of our team. Once we determine these needs, we will reach out to you about the assistance we may be able to provide.

New this season: Your family will need to sign up to volunteer in order to complete your registration. You may want to pull up or print out our draft summer calendar that can be found here. This can help you in selecting your volunteer opportunities based on your summer schedule! Not sure of what meets your swimmer will participate in? Sign up to help with Pasta Dinner set up and/or clean up! Or work the concessions booth, even if you may not have a swimmer in the meet!

Volunteer roles have been assigned points based on the amount of time and level of training required. Each family is required to sign up for 10 volunteer points in order to complete registration, with the exception of preteam only families. This practice is common on most MCSL teams. Other teams require an additional deposit of several hundred dollars that is not returned if volunteer responsibilities are not fulfilled. We are not going this route - as we know our Laser family will step up and share the volunteer work load that is required to have a successful summer swim season!

Please join us for the Ice Cream Social and In-person Registration Event on Thursday, May 15 from 6 - 7:30 PM at the Lake Marion Community Center. Connect with swim families, learn about amazing volunteer opportunities, vote on options for spirit themes, and ask any questions you may have!

Please spread the word about our registration being open to all of your neighbors, as Swimtopia only allows us to send this email to those families who swam with us last year.
