Hello Lake Marion Lasers and Happy Memorial Day!

This is a longer message but it is full of essential information. Thank you for taking the time to read to the very end!

Practice Begins

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 27th is the first day of swim team practice for those swimmers not on preteam. How exciting! 4:15 – 5:30 PM is for current middle and high school students. 5:30 – 6:30 PM is for current elementary school students.

We are excited to welcome back Head Coach Nick Keeler and Assistant Coach Rachel Sharp. Our 3 swimmer coaches are Ellie Mikula, Izzy Najaro & Austin Seager.

Swimmers, please show your team spirit by wearing a Lake Marion t-shirt or red and black to school on Tuesday!

Please note: Preteam evaluations will be next week, June 2nd. If you have a preteam swimmer, please look for a separate email from Alison and Cindy, our preteam reps, with all of the details.

Is Practice On?

We hold practice if the pool is open. As always, if you have concerns about the air or water temperature, or the weather forecast, do what is best for your swimmer.

Essentials for Getting Started

Please keep in mind the following as we start the season this week:

1. Only swimmers who are registered and paid may participate in practice. This is an insurance requirement and we cannot make any exceptions.

2. Swimmers or a parent/guardian MUST show a valid 2025 pass to enter the pool.

3. A parent/guardian, age 16 or older, must remain on the pool deck during practice with swimmers under the age of 10. This is also an MVF rule.

4. During the first week of practice, a member of the committee will be near the front desk to check in swimmers/families prior to them turning in their activity card to enter the pool deck. Please bring payment, cash or check, if you have not paid.

Spirit Wear

Our spirit wear vendor is Frizzy’s Tees & Things, a Lake Marion family. They have created an online store for your spirit wear purchases. They are selling t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, shorts, etc. Please visit https://frizzys.co/collections/lake-marion-lasers-swim-team and get your orders in!

Team Suit

Our team suit is still the TYR Alliance Splice. Here is the link for the women’s/girl’s suit and the men’s/boy’s jammer. This suit is not required, but suggested.
