What’s the difference between the developmental and 10 & under practice?

The developmental practice group is a subgroup of the swim team designed for swimmers (typically between the ages of 8 and 10) who are beyond pre-team but still building their skills and are not quite ready to join the “regular” 10 & under swim practice, as identified by the coaches.

Practice will typically run 45 minutes, instead of 1-1.25 hours, and allows for less rigorous practice sets, additional supervision and focuses strongly on stroke technique.

Swimmers are still expected to be able to swim across the pool (25m) repeatedly, unassisted.
