Participation in our swim meets is HIGHLY encouraged, but not required. Competing in swim meets is an invaluable learning experience for all swimmers. It’s where they put all their hard work into practice! Plus, they are a ton of fun!!
Swimmers for the A meets are selected by the head coach. Swimmers for the B meets are able to choose which events they wish to swim, as approved by the coaches (they must be legal in that event). Even if your child is not selected for an A meet or only chooses to swim one race in a B meet, you can still join in on cheering for friends/teammates and get into the team spirit!
However, if your swimmer does not wish to or is unable to swim in a particular meet, please declare them as “unavailable” in SwimTopia for that specific meet as soon as possible.
(Step by step instructions on how to declare your swimmer’s availability can be found here.)
Please note: even if your swimmer chooses not swim in any meets this season, your family is still required to fulfill their 10-point volunteer requirement for the season. Please see the Volunteering tab for more details.
