Hello Lasers! Here is your “weekly update." This message has something for everyone on the team, so please keep reading. Here we go!

Optional Preteam Practices Start Tomorrow!

We are excited to start optional preteam practices tomorrow! All advanced preteam swimmers can practice from 5:30 - 6 PM while our beginning preteam swimmers can practice from 6 - 6:30 PM. If your swimmer committed to being a CIT, please ensure that they attend all preteam practices they are available.

All Comers

We met at North Creek Saturday morning for the Annual All Comers meet, MVF’s very own time trials. We had 62 swimmers - 10 more than last year. Congratulations to all of the Lasers who participated in their first meet! The meet results are posted to the website. You can find them under Schedule, Meet Results or by clicking https://lakemarionlasers.swimtopia.com/meet-results Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make sure the MVF time trials were a success! The coaches will hand out ribbons between the first and second practices tomorrow. If your swimmer isn’t at practice tomorrow, ribbons will be in the family folders that we have out at practices. If we forget, please ask!

A Meet Week 1 - Saturday, June 13th

Our first A Meet is HOME vs.Lakelands at 9 AM this Saturday, June 13th. All families not on preteam - you must declare your swimmer’s availability through Swimtopia for this and every A meet!

You must declare your swimmer’s availability for our first A meet no later than 9:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10th. Please do this even if you don’t think your swimmer would participate in an A Meet.

If you know your swimmer's availability for the remainder of the A Meets, please declare for those now too! A Meets earn points for our team and determine our division placement in the entire Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL). The coaches select swimmers for all A meets and will communicate who will swim in this meet on Thursday. The line-up will then be formally exchanged with Lakelands by noon on Friday.

Theme

In keeping with Laser traditions, we have a weekly spirit theme. For Week 1, the theme is TROPICAL, so get ready to show your Laser pride by decking yourself out from head to toe in all things TROPICAL! We will be recognizing two swimmers and one family for showing their LM spirit at the team lunch after the meet.

Pasta Dinner

Our first Pasta Dinner is this Friday! It will begin at 6:30 PM in the community center. Every member of our team is invited to attend and bring a dish to share. There is a link on the Schedule (under All Meets and Events) for you to sign up to join us for this fun team building event, or you can click here for easy access to the RSVP and job/food sign up!

Volunteering

As you know, our team required you to sign up for 5 points of volunteering in order to process your registration. We are an all volunteer organization and require every family to support the team in some capacity to have a successful season. Volunteer job sign ups open for the second half of the season tomorrow at 8 AM.

You will receive an email reminder prior to your volunteer shifts from our Volunteer Coordinator, Tanya Hunter. Please remember that volunteer commitments apply even if your child is not swimming in a specific meet.
